Matt Welsch

Director of Coaching

Matt Welsch serves as Director of Coaching for Highland Park Soccer Academy, bringing over 15 years of experience in player development, program leadership, and coach mentorship.

Matt has worked with players from the youth level through college pathways, building structured, competitive environments that emphasize development, accountability, and a positive team culture. Since joining HPSA in 2021, he has coached across multiple age groups and now leads both of the 2013 boys teams while overseeing the broader coaching framework of the club.

In addition to his role at HPSA, Matt was selected to the North Texas Soccer Association Olympic Development Program staff, where he coaches the 2010 boys, which included leading them to the Far West ODP Championships.

Matt’s background includes leadership roles with High Plains Drifters and West Texas A&M University, along with experience in league operations and program design. He holds a U.S. Soccer C License and D License, as well as NSCAA Goalkeeping certifications.

As Director of Coaching, Matt is focused on supporting coaches, aligning development standards across teams, and creating a consistent, high-quality experience for every HPSA player.  He is also the Head Coach of the 2013 boys teams.
