2026-27 Season

The following information pertains to players whose birthdays are between August 1, 2021 (U6) – July 31, 2017 (U10)

Season Information

Teams normally have one game per week for two 10-week seasons (fall and spring) and a shorter winter season.

• Fall: September – November
• Winter (Indoor): November – February
• Spring: February – April

Games are mainly on Saturdays, but postponed games due to inclement weather may be rescheduled on Sundays or weekdays.  Field status during inclement weather is generally posted by the league by 7:00 AM on game day, see links below.

Team names, “B” Boys or “G” Girls, are based on your birth year.  The “U” or Under age number is also used by leagues and changes every year.  For your team’s schedule, click on the links in your team name or refer to the HPSA App.

Season Guidelines

To help us create an organized, competitive, and enjoyable season for every HPSA player and family, please review the following expectations:

1. Practices, Games & Tournaments

Players are expected to attend their scheduled practices, games, and tournaments. Schedules may change throughout the season, so families should regularly check team communications and the HPSA App for updates.

If your player will miss a practice, game, or tournament, please notify the coach or Team Manager as early as possible.

2. Spring Break Game Weekend — March 20–21, 2027

Please plan Spring Break travel so your player is available to play during the second weekend of Spring Break.

For the 2026–27 season, league games WILL be held March 20–21, 2027, and HPSA players should plan to be available that weekend.

League schedules do not provide HPSA with a full two-week Spring Break bye. Please do not schedule travel that prevents your player from participating on March 20–21.

If a team is unable to play a scheduled game because of insufficient player attendance, the league may assess a forfeit fee or other penalty. Forfeit fees resulting from player unavailability may be passed along to the players on the affected team.

3. Bring Both Jerseys to Every Game

Players should bring both their white home jersey and navy away jersey to every game. Uniform colors may need to change based on the opponent, and having both jerseys helps prevent unnecessary game-day conflicts.

4. Attendance & Playing Time

HPSA is a competitive soccer club. Playing time is earned and is not guaranteed equally among players.

Consistent attendance, effort, development, attitude, and the needs of the team may all factor into playing-time decisions. Excessive absences from training may affect a player’s opportunities during games.

Roster, training, position, and playing-time decisions are made by the coaching staff.

5. Sportsmanship & Respect

HPSA expects a positive and respectful environment for players, parents, coaches, referees, opponents, and other families.

Bullying, disrespectful conduct, inappropriate sideline behavior, or unnecessary team drama will not be tolerated—on the field, on the sidelines, in team communications, or away from the field.

Our players learn from the adults around them, and we ask every HPSA family to help model good sportsmanship.

6. Communication

Good communication prevents many problems before they begin.

For routine team logistics, please begin with your Team Manager. Questions regarding training, player development, positions, or playing time should be directed to your player’s coach.

If a coaching concern remains unresolved, families may contact the Director of Coaching. Administrative questions regarding registration, payments, forms, rosters, or the HPSA App should be directed to HPSA staff.

Whenever possible, questions or concerns should be addressed within HPSA before contacting a league directly.

7. Academy Team Structure

HPSA Academy teams provide young players with a professionally coached developmental environment and a higher level of training and competition than recreational soccer.

Academy rosters are generally more flexible than Select rosters. Depending on league rules and player-development needs, players may have opportunities to play with different HPSA teams or age groups.

League participation also comes with team obligations. Multiple forfeits can result in fines or league sanctions, so HPSA teams may play with the minimum permitted number of players when necessary rather than forfeit a scheduled game.

8. League Games & Scheduling

Most league games are played on Saturdays in Plano and surrounding North Dallas areas.

Teams will generally play approximately one league game per week during the fall and spring seasons. Fall league play typically runs from September through November, with spring league play running from approximately February through April.

Schedules are determined by the leagues and are subject to change. Weather-related reschedules may occur on Sundays or weekdays.

Teams are generally scheduled for eight league games, with league rules determining the minimum number of guaranteed games.

9. Other School Breaks & Player Availability

League schedules do not always align with HPISD or other school calendars. Although leagues may avoid some major holidays, families should not assume that every school break will be a league bye weekend.

If a significant portion of a team expects to be unavailable during a school break or holiday weekend, please communicate with the Team Manager and coach as early as possible so the team can plan accordingly.
